About Me
My name is Elaine Vella Catalano, I am a 23 year old Maltese resident and work as a full-time web developer and designer.
I have been creating websites and experimenting with code since the year 2000. I attended MCAST for four years and have achieved the BTEC Higher National Diploma in ICT specialising Software Development. I have also gained a considerable amount of work experience through the various work projects I have conducted in the past years, both through freelance and full-time jobs.
I have a strong knowledge of PHP and using various frameworks, especially CodeIgniter, and work very well with JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML and CSS. I have experience in Content Management System (CMS) integration, Wordpress in particular, using custom themes and design, as well as custom functionality. I also have a good understanding of the .NET Framework, particularly using ASP.NET and CSharp.NET, Java and Databases using SQL including mySQL and Microsoft SQL Server, and have a keen interest in SEO.
I enjoy practising photography during my spare time and love nothing more than to shoot a few pictures with my Nikon D90 DSLR camera, especially when travelling abroad. I believe that, similarly to web application development, you never stop learning new techniques and I try to improve with practise and time.
